In this article, you will learn how you can see how long a visitor has been waiting on a response.
Note: This article applies only to our legacy Live Chat engagement platform. Our modern Messaging platform does not provide this metric. The reason is that it allows both asynchronous and resumable conversations. Thus, this metric would not be as useful in Messaging. If your organization is using Messaging, we suggest that you consider some of these alternatives instead.
The client wait timer shows how long it has been since a chat message was last sent to a visitor.
To enable the client wait timer settings, do the following from the Agent Widget.
- Click on the Three Dots Button (...)
- Turn on the Display client wait time option.
During a chat, you will now see a timer. It shows how long it has been since the visitor was last sent a message.
