Effective 3 October 2024, Live Assist Chat bots that act As A Chat Agent will no longer be available for use.
What is a Bot that acts As A Chat Agent?
The Bot Agent Connector allowed your MS bot to act As A Chat Agent. While these bots handled chats, you could manage your campaign with Live Assist. Until this point, we supported only bots running in the Microsoft Bot Framework.
Why is this happening?
An investigation into the service was conducted and we determined that no customers are currently using this specific service. Since our chat product is now Legacy, we will take this opportunity to reduce unnecessary resource usage and support load.
What does this mean for you?
- Service Termination: The "MS Bot" in the Admin Portal will no longer be available and all functionalities related to bots acting As A Chat Agent will cease to operate.
- Alternative Solutions: We recommend utilizing LP Bots, which offer extensive third-party bot support including Microsoft Bot Framework bots. LP Bots, in conjunction with Messaging, present a more adaptable long-term solution. You now have the option to provision IBM Watson, Google Dialogflow, Amazon Lex, or Microsoft bots.
