Business units provide a way to separate users that operate in different areas of your business. Live Assist for Dynamics 365 is compatible with users who belong to different business units.
You can change the business unit for a user by following these steps:
- In Dynamics 365, go to the settings (gear) icon on the top navigation bar, and click on Advanced Settings
- Click on the caret (drop down arrow) next to the word Settings on the top navigation bar, to open the Settings menu. Then click on Security under the System heading.
- Click on Users.
- On the next screen, select the user you would like to change business units for. Then click on "Change Business Unit."
- Finally, select the business unit you would like to move the user to and click OK.
If you change the business unit a user belongs to, Dynamics removes all roles which were assigned to that user in their previous business unit. Live Assist for Dynamics 365 will automatically add the Live Assist roles to the user in the new business unit about sixty seconds after the change.
